Silkscreen Printmaking

The Dancers
A series of silkscreen prints exploring the grace and dynamism of Bharatanatyam and Kathak, two of India’s seven classical dance traditions. Each print presents twelve iconic dance poses, interpreted through a four-color palette that emphasizes movement, expression, and cultural storytelling.

The Markets of Gujarat
This diptych showcases an important part of my background and culture of being from Gujarat. The first panel portrays a my family at meal time; enjoying various Gujarati snacks and dishes over a round of cards. There is nothing my family enjoys more than food and being competitive over a round of 'Kalithiri' a Gujrati name for then classic game of spades. The second panel portrays my favorite part of visiting my hometown; the endless lanes of shopping at a market. You may have heard of a never-ending target run but the financial impact shopping in India is way worse; but more fun. The main motif on this panel are the Rajasthani dolls that are often used to decorate homes but primarily used during puppet shows. They are often decorated with traditional wear, jewelry, and bold makeup (especially in the eyes).

Closet of Feelings
A zine exploring the idea of how clothes are connected by emotions. The zine follows 5 different looks connected to 5 different feelings all connected by a short poem. A big part of who I am is how I dress because it gives me the chance to express my personality; plus a win for those trying to figure out if im hangry ;)
